Position as postdoc in Cultural Landscape Geography

A two year postdoc position is available at The Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management, University of Copenhagen, starting May the 1st 2013 or soon thereafter.

The postdoc will become part of the team at the Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management involved with the VOLANTE project (1 professor, 3 associate professors and 1 PhD). The postdoc will cover two main tasks. Half of the time will be dedicated research directly related to the Departments tasks within the VOLANTE project – especially within Work Package P-1 (Decision making at the local level: understanding land transformation processes) and Work Package P-2 (Policy effects, interaction and institutions). The remaining time can be used to conduct research within the overall themes and framework of the VOLANTE project on topics selected by the postdoc. An indication of research plans should be included in the application. A possible research topic is to analyze the full Danish agricultural register (GLR) covering a period of 15 years. The register holds detailed spatial information on e.g. the revealed preferences of farmers with respect to crop choice and uptake of agro-environmental schemes.
